Go to the start menu and type devmgmt.msc and you will see the device manager.


Then expand the universal serial bus controllers, where you will see all the unrecognized devices as ‘Unknown devices’.


Next, right click on the unknown device and select the update driver option.


If the update is what was needed, then your USB will start to work now.
